Artist Love: Ashley Percival

14 Nov

While browsing on Society 6, I stumbled upon the artist Ashely Percival. Her subjects included many whimsical owls wearing hats and scarves. I was hooked immediately. I love her use of textures and personification.

Ashley graduated in 2010 from Falmouth and works as a freelance illustrator in the UK. You can purchase prints, iphone cases, shirts and more from her Society 6 store.

Fall’s A’comin: New Collection of Cards

11 Sep

I’m so excited to be launching my fall line today. The air the past few days has held a chill at night and I’ve totally indulged in a few batches of Pumpkin Muffins. I couldn’t hold back any longer. Please take a look-sie at the new goodies.

1. New Autumn line cards-we have a Barn Owl for those owl lovers out there (myself included), A ‘Hello’ card made out of tree limbs, vines, and fall foliage, A mixture of fall lovelies, and a ‘Give Thanks’ pumpkin card perfect for Thanksgiving. Can’t choose? Well I have the set for you. These all include a kraft envelope with a hand painted gold edge.

2. Eat Seasonal Wall Calendar-derived from the Eat Seasonal Print I made a 12-month wall calendar. Each month shows a grouping of three lovely illustrated fruits and veggies good for that month.

3. Halloween cards- I’ve brought back my chocolate loving zombie card and added a new set of adorable bats. I don’t know about you but I’m in a festive Halloween mood this year. Stay tuned for some party ideas including a DIY Halloween Invite that’s sure to send out some spooks.

Art Print featured on One King’s Lane

26 Jun
This past week I spent my days by the beautiful Springville Lake in Argo, AL. Sounds relaxing right? It would have been except that I was a counselor at a youth camp with 660 folks. It was crazy. But awesome. God did some amazing things. Youth were saved, people healed. And I rode a 1000 ft zip line across the lake.
I was checking my email at lunch Wednesday when I noticed that my print “Naturally Framed” for Minted was being featured for a sale on One King’s Lane. I was floored. The sale is over but I thought I would share anyways. It’s little things like this that remind me God is faithful when we place a dream, especially an unattainable on in his hands.

New Print: Eat Seasonally Poster

4 Jun

I tell you I’ve been excited to feature this new print! After weeks of nights dedicated to painting little fruits and veggies, I couldn’t be more pleased with how this print turned out. In fact it’s framed and ready to go hang in my kitchen once I break out the tools.

The poster features 27 hand painted fruit and veggie illustrations that I made using gouache. They are then separated into four seasons. This poster is very bright and colorful and has such pretty fonts. The colors were inspired by Anthropologie. Printed on card stock, the size measures 10.125 x 15.5 and will come shipped in a mailing tube.

You can purchase your copy here

Side Note: I had three posters print with some stray marks around the garlic. There is also a discounted listing for those. The marks aren’t very evident. In fact I framed one of these for my own.

Eat Seasonally: Sneak Peek

25 May

I’ve been getting more and more aware of what I eat these days. Did you know that it’s actually healthier and cheaper to eat fruits and veggies in their season (and bought locally)? That’s why some fruits will cost you an arm and a leg to buy sometimes and cheap at others. To make it easier to tell and to have a pretty print in the kitchen I’ve start working on an “Eat Seasonally” poster with hand painted gouache fruit and veggie illustrations. Here is a sneak peek:

Total there will probably be somewhere between 20-30 images. Practice makes perfect right? Also I’m debating between “Eat Seaonally” and “Eat Seasonably”. Any preferences?

Have a blessed Memorial weekend!

All That Glitters is Golden

18 Apr

So I finally bit the bullet and tried my luck with Threadless Tees again. If you haven’t checked them out they have pretty cool artistic tees. Some of them can be quite odd but there are some really awesome ones as well. I submitted a design a few years ago and bombed. But yesterday I finally worked up the nerve to submit again.

My idea was to have the ship printed on either a silver or white shirt. The frame would be printed with a gold shimmer ink. Spiffy right? If you have a moment, please go and vote on it here. I really appreciate it 🙂
