Connect Student Ministries

12 Sep

I’ve designed for several youth groups over the last couple of years. I enjoy it. Nothing makes me happier then making a logo or t-shirt for a youth group. I have to say though I’m totally biased for this group. Last June my boyfriend became the youth pastor for Connect Church in Daphne, AL. The church had been developing some new branding so I had the liberty to create a new look for the youth. We kept with in the aesthetic of the overall church and kept the Connect theme. I chose colors that were youth friendly yet complimented the overall church. Their primary brand color is orange. I found out that the color orange means change. The pastor chose orange after reading the “Orange Revolution“. Pretty cool way to use color and meaning.

I created hoodies, student info cards, sign-up sheets, calendars, along with postcards that could be mailed out for birthdays and encouragement.

The cards actually were modified from note cards in the shop. I just set it up where they could be printed front and back, three to a page on colored card stock. (If you’re looking for something similar for your youth group, I’ll be happy to set up same system for you with your youth logo on the back and info. Just drop me line.)

Forword Student Ministries: New T-shirt

11 Sep

I’m excited about this new t-shirt design for FSM. I tried a technique I’ve used once before to create a graphic that is slightly darker then the t-shirt color. It creates almost an embossing illusion. This really makes the rest of the graphic pop off the shirt without the background becoming starch.

Three Years of Mission Tees-Montgomery First

30 Jul

I’ve gotten the chance to work with Montgomery First the past three years on their “All Church Mission Trip” tees. They’ve been to some amazing places in the past few years. 2010: Canary Islands, 2011: Guatemala, 2012 Panama

Its fun to see how these things play out in a series as they all had a similar feel to them. Bright with the year and country emphasized.

New Deluge Tee

8 Jun

Summer always seems to be full of t-shirts. Here is the latest design for Deluge Student Ministries. I saw this shirt awhile back on Etsy for the hunger games and really loved the shape. So I incorporated it and some fun type using the verse that defines “Deluge” for us.I also modified our logo and freshened it up a bit. I decided to print it in 1 color so that we could opt for American Apparel tees. They cost more but they’re so comfy. Can’t wait to pick them up from Mammoth Print Shop in Auburn. (I can’t speak more highly of them, super friendly, great quality, and dude sent me an invoice at 10:30 PM. That’s dedication.)

Turning the World Upside Down: Tshirt

28 Mar

Here is a little design update on a kids ministry t-shirt I’ve been working on. The shirts are mostly to be worn by the workers each Sunday but they will also serve as a sell item to raise money for Kmotion. Kmotion is the Children’s Ministry at Temple Assembly of God in Clanton, AL. If you live in the area and are looking for a fun place come join them on Sundays. They’re also having an Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 7th from 10-2. It should be an exciting event for the whole family with free food, games, and other events.

We went with two different shirts for this so that the workers have a variety. I used bright bold colors to create a high energy. I mean we are turning the world upside here so it has to be bold. I also used bubblish typography and doodles to get across the kid feel. I’m hoping I can rock that white one soon.
