Shop Update: Luck of the Irish Note Card Set

29 Feb

Two years ago I went on a study abroad trip during my spring break to Dublin, Ireland for a design class. Ireland had always been one of my dream destinations and for good reason. The country is absolutely gorgeous and slap full of culture. Over the course of 10 days, we stayed in Dublin and visited places like Glendough, NewGrange and the Cliffs of Moher. The country is vivid green and just adorable. There were little baby sheep bouncing everywhere. It was love. In fact, I’m playing Celtic Fiddle Festival right now as I write this. I was inspired to create a note card set featuring some of the iconic imagery known to Ireland.

The set contains 4 A2 (4.25″ x 5.5″ when folded) notecards with blank interior, one in each of the designs shown. Two leaf green vertical cards, one orange and one dark green horizontal cards. These cards are professionally printed on 80C Card stock and come with 4 white envelopes. Find them in the shop here.

1. Map of Ireland made out of iconic Irish imagery, says “top of the morning to ya”-leaf green
2. Cliffs of Moher-orange.
3. Christ Church Catedral-dark green
4. Little lamb-leaf green

I’ll tease you with a bit of imagery that inspired the trip. More to come later.

It’s no wonder why my favorite chick flick is Leap Year. Perfect day for it too!

Lingerie Shower Invitation

27 Feb

I recently got asked to design a lingerie shower invitation. The client wanted something a little different. To cut printing cost we designed the invitation in black and white but made the illustrations where it would be appropriate to add color by using color pencils. Almost like a coloring book invitation.

I drew some cute undies and added them to a clothesline. I paired that with some fun script type and I got my color pencils out. I chose a fresh spring palette, but the beauty of this format is that each invitation can carry a different flair. I’m sure the other bridesmaids will enjoy the coloring party. Another cost effective method was that I made them 5×7 and put two up on a standard 8.5×11 page.

I think it turned out lovely. Excuse the blur on the invite, I didn’t want to give out any digits.

Happy Monday. Enjoy!

Recipe Cards Featured in a New Etsy Treasury

23 Feb

My spoon and fork recipe cards were featured yesterday in this absolutely gorgeous baking treasury created by JarosDesigns’ on Etsy. I’m loving the use of soft greys and blues. So rustic and romantic. I adore that ceramic bowl and mugs. Just call me a sucker for pottery. Be sure to check it out.

Psalm 103

21 Feb

Some days you just need reminders. When we offer up praise and thanksgiving to God he showers us with his presence. In the his presence we find JOY.

Psalm 103:1-5 (NLT)

1 Let all that I am praise the LORD;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
2 Let all that I am praise the LORD;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
3 He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
4 He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
5 He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

Sketch Contrast

20 Feb

I was scrolling through my iphone yesterday and found several photos that I had taken of sketches for different designs. I’m happy I found these little gems because it’s interesting to see where a design started out and the finished project. There’s something about these raw drawings that just make me happy. Sometimes I find that I’m more drawn to my sketches then the final project. Sounds kinda bad when I put it that way but I think I just love something about pencil on paper. Below are a few examples of sketches and the project in a various state of completion.

The Anchor is our college ministry at church. Derivative of our youth ministry which is Deluge, we kept with the water theme. Anchor is a place to ground students in something consistent during the really quite chaotic years of college. Kids Kloset is a sewing supply store in Auburn, AL. These logos were part of an initial concept. We ended up going in a more kid friend direction but I still thought these were nice.

These are both cards I have made for various holidays for my boyfriend. He’s addicted to the Walking Dead. Weird, I know. But I love him so when he mentioned that I should make a zombie card I set out to surprise him. It was a winner, and since this zombie only has a sweet tooth I could stomach it. The other is the first concept I created for the Opossum Card I made him for valentines. I posted about the final version last week in a Valentine’s Day post.

I just think it’s neat to see things in their various stages. Enjoy!

Shop Update: Love Quote Print

20 Feb

Hello all! I hope everyone’s weekend was amazing. I managed to be somewhat productive despite the dreary weather. I did a photo shoot with my cousin who just turned 13! Those were fun. I also added a new print to the shop. The 8×10 art print features a lovely scripture found in Song of Solomon 3:4. “For I have found the one whom my soul loves.” The print features fun type in pink, blue, and purple on a cream background. Framed I think this makes a lovely addition to any room. I also am working on 5×7 and note cards. Check it out here.

Put a Stamp On It:Mineral Love

17 Feb

Sharing another couple of pages with yall today from the stamp collection.

I’m particularly fond of some of the love stamps. I’ve seen them alot for wedding invites that use old postage stamps. Neat idea, hard to pull off. And those mineral stamps are making me happy. I’m on a rock kick right now with the rebranding of the store and these gemstone note cards: here

Enjoy the weekend!
